Nike celebrates the deep heritage and long-standing history that makes Morehouse College one of a kind. And we're doing so with the classic Air Max 95. Stacked layers of full-grain grain leather, synthetic leather and suede—all in Morehouse colors—lead up to the Tiger print, honoring the college's Maroon Tiger mascot. Pointed details complete the shoe with the college's logo on the tongue label, and the school's motto, "Et Facta Est Lux" (And there was light) printed on the upper.
Morehouse College was founded in 1867 as the Augusta Institute in a church basement in Augusta, Georgia. The original mission was to educate freed slaves for ministry and teaching. It later moved to Atlanta and ultimately became Morehouse College in 1913. Morehouse has a rich history as a premier liberal arts college for men, producing notable leaders like Martin Luther King Jr. and serving as a cornerstone of the Atlanta University Center.
